Research Frontiers Licensee ID Research Pty Ltd (“iGlass”) to Exhibit SPD Technology at Form and Function 2010 in Sydney, Australia
Senior executives of iGlass will feature SPD technology at Form and Function 2010 being held April 22-24 at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre in Sydney, Australia.
Form and Function 2010 is considered Australia’s premier event for the architectural, building and construction industries. The event is co-located with designEX and the 2010 National Architecture Conference. More information about Form and Function 2010 can be found at www.formandfunction.com.
iGlass will highlight the light-control capabilities and sustainability benefits of SPD-Smart(TM) products at booth #2469. The company plans to work with architects to specify SPD-SmartGlass into projects.
iGlass is licensed by Research Frontiers to manufacture and sell SPD emulsion and film to end-product licensees of Research Frontiers throughout the world. In addition, iGlass has the right to manufacture and sell SPD-Smart architectural end-products including windows, skylights and atria in Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.
SPD-Smart light-control film technology transforms widely used products – windows, skylights, curtainwalls, partitions, sunroofs and more – into products that allow users to instantly and precisely control the light, glare and heat entering a building or vehicle. SPD-SmartGlass is instantly tunable to an infinite number of light transmission states regardless of window size, and easily adapts to individual preferences using control devices ranging from basic dimmer switches and photosensors to those that are integrated into a building’s or vehicle’s intelligent control system. These unequalled performance characteristics help optimize energy-savings and human comfort, and they offer many other desired benefits such as increased security, noise reduction, protection from harmful ultraviolet light and the potential for aesthetically distinctive designs.
Additional information about SPD technology and SPD-Smart windows and other products can be found at www.SmartGlass.com.
iGlass is a manufacturer of “smart” films, and end-products using those films. Headquartered in Ballarat, Victoria (Australia), the company currently produces polymer dispersed liquid crystal (PDLC) film and finished PDLC products for customers in most of the world’s developed regions. Existing applications of iGlass products include architectural, automotive, transportation, marine and other uses such as media.
The company recently received an investment of $1.5 million from the Government of Victoria to upgrade and modify its factory to produce SPD light-control film. It also recently signed an international distribution agreement that greatly increases the scope of its sales and customer support system in Europe and North America.
