Plainview, New York, May 11, 2009 – Innovative Glass Corporation (IGC), a licensee of Research Frontiers Inc. (Nasdaq: REFR), was a sponsor and exhibitor at the Hauppauge Industrial Association’s Legislative Executive Breakfast held May 8, 2009 at the Islandia Marriott in Islandia, New York.
The purpose of the event was to examine how the federal government’s stimulus package will affect business on Long Island. It included a panel discussion among New York State Senators John Flanagan and Brian Foley, Suffolk County Legislator John Kennedy, Suffolk County Executive Steve Levy, Islip Town Supervisor Phil Nolan, and various industry professionals. The event attracted approximately 300 attendees including officers of the Long Island Power Authority (LIPA) and representatives of organizations involved with building construction, architectural services, municipal planning and other fields.
As a sponsor, Steve Abadi, Chairman and CEO of Innovative Glass Corporation, had the opportunity to introduce IGC and demonstrate the company’s SPD-SmartGlass products from the podium to the large audience. This demonstration included variably tuning the SPD-SmartGlass to its clear and tinted states multiple times and remotely operating the company’s controllable display at its exhibit booth.
As one of four exhibitors, Innovative Glass demonstrated its SPD-Smart E Glass products which are capable of manually or automatically controlling the amount of light, glare and heat passing through windows, skylights, doors and other products. As one of the invited speakers, Steve Abadi highlighted from the podium and at his exhibit the many “green” benefits of these products including advanced daylight harvesting capability, exceptionally efficient operation, and improved occupant comfort and well-being.
An overview of the environmental benefits of smart glass can be found in a recent article published in the New York Real Estate Journal, entitled “Smart Glass and Daylight Harvesting: Advanced Light Control That Saves Energy.”
At the event, Innovative Glass also showcased several recent commercial and residential SPD-Smart product installations. More information about Innovative Glass Corporation and its SPD-Smart E Glass products can be found at
