Research Frontiers Licensee SPD Control Systems to Exhibit SPD-SmartGlass This Week at Advanced Energy 2009
Research Frontiers licensee SPD Control Systems Corp. (SCSC) will exhibit SPD-SmartGlass(TM), and controllers for SPD-Smart products, at Advanced Energy 2009 being held November 18-19 at the Hyatt Regency Long Island in Hauppauge, New York. SCSC develops and supports the installation of energy-conserving SPD-Smart products in small- to large-scale residential and commercial properties as well as in vehicles.
Among other material, SCSC will feature an SPD-Smart polycarbonate panel using film supplied by Research Frontiers licensee Isoclima S.p.A. Isoclima produces SPD film using SPD emulsion supplied by licensee DIC Corporation. SCSC will be part of the Long Island High-Technology Incubator (LIHTI) booth at Advanced Energy 2009. More information about SCSC is available from their website.
In 2008, SCSC was awarded a $580,000 matching funds contract from the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) for the development and demonstration of a state-of-the-art, patent pending control system for SPD-Smart architectural window products. At Research Frontiers’ Annual Meeting of Shareholders this past June, John Petraglia, CEO of SCSC, participated in a joint presentation on the energy-saving potential of daylight harvesting using SPD-SmartGlass and advanced control systems. The presentation is available here.
