Research Frontiers Licenses DuPont to Make SPD-Smart™ Architectural and Automotive Smart Windows, and Emulsion and Light-Control Film
Woodbury, New York – April 14, 2004. Research Frontiers Incorporated has granted DuPont a non-exclusive license to manufacture and sell SPD-Smart™ architectural and automotive window products worldwide (except Korea). The license provides for a 10% royalty to Research Frontiers on sales of licensed products.
In addition, Research Frontiers has granted DuPont a worldwide non-exclusive license to manufacture and sell SPD-Smart™ emulsion and light-control film made from such emulsion to Research Frontiers licensees for use in a variety of SPD-Smart glass and plastic products. Other terms of the license and DuPont’s specific product development plans have not been disclosed at this time.
In a window, sunroof, or other product using VaryFast™ SPD-Smart™ technology, the user can manually or automatically “tune” the amount of light, glare and heat coming into a home, office, or vehicle.
