Research Frontiers’ SPD-SmartGlass Featured on NBC’s Today Show
Millions of television viewers got a glimpse of the future this morning while watching NBC’s Today Show. The program highlighted several innovative products that were part of an Allure Magazine story on bathrooms of the future that ran in this month’s issue of the magazine.
SPD-SmartGlass(TM), developed by Research Frontiers (Nasdaq: REFR), was prominently featured in this program. This segment is available now from the Today Show website.
Linda Wells, Editor-In-Chief of Allure Magazine, opened the special segment by demonstrating fast-switching SPD-SmartGlass and highlighting how SPD-Smart(TM) windows can promote healthier living because the windows block 99% of harmful ultra-violet light which causes skin damage. Because of its deep tinting capability, she also informed the viewing audience that SPD-Smart windows provide privacy and can eliminate the need for shades or blinds.
Enjoy the video and a glimpse of the future – available today!
Made using patented light-control SPD film developed by Research Frontiers, SPD-SmartGlass is the world’s fastest-switching variably tintable dynamic glazing technology. It is the only dimmable window technology that gives users the ability to instantly and precisely control the level of shading to any point between very dark and clear. This provides exceptional control over incoming solar energy while also adding to user comfort and protecting interiors. Available in both glass and lightweight polycarbonate substrates, SPD-Smart products – windows, skylights, doors, partitions, sunroofs and more – are laminated glazings that offer a distinctive combination of sustainability and security, can be controlled manually or automatically, and are available in custom sizes and fabrications.
