Research Frontiers to Present at the Society of Vacuum Coaters 2011 Technical Conference

 In News

Research Frontiers’ (Nasdaq: REFR) Director of Market Development, Gregory M. Sottile, Ph.D., is an invited presenter at the Society of Vacuum Coaters’ 54th Annual Technical Conference being held this week at the Hyatt Regency Chicago on the Riverwalk in Chicago, Illinois. Entitled “The Sustainability Benefits of Suspended Particle Device (SPD) Light-Control Technology: Energy Efficiency, Individual Well-Being, and Security,” Dr. Sottile will give his presentation on April 19, 2011 at 1:50PM CST as part of the Conference’s clean technology program.
Dr. Sottile’s presentation will discuss the sustainability opportunities in the architectural and transportation industries and highlight how SPD-Smart(TM) products – windows, skylights, sunroofs and more – can help achieve these opportunities by improving energy efficiency, increasing user comfort, and enhancing security.
Made with patented light-control SPD film developed by Research Frontiers, SPD-SmartGlass(TM) is the world’s fastest-switching variably tintable dynamic glazing technology. It is the only dimmable window technology that gives users the ability to instantly and precisely control the level of shading to any point between very dark and clear. This provides exceptional control over solar energy while also adding to user comfort and protecting interiors. Available in both glass and lightweight polycarbonate substrates, SPD-Smart products – windows, skylights, doors, partitions, sunroofs and more – are laminated glazings that offer a distinctive combination of sustainability and security, can be controlled manually or automatically, and are available in custom sizes and fabrications for new construction, replacement and retrofit projects.
